The CBD Educator Spotlight, a Relax + Releaf series highlighting Black Medical Professionals who advocate for CBD, Cannabis, and Hemp. Presenting Dr. Chanda Macias:

Dr. Chanda Macias is a habitual advocate for the Cannabis, CBD, Hemp Industry because for over 15 years, she has used her knowledge and experience in academia, government, technology, and the cannabis industry to create opportunities. She is the CEO of Ilera Holistic, a Baton Rouge based medical cannabis cultivation organization. She is also the CEO and Chairwoman of Women Grow, which advocates for women in cannabis. As well as, CEO of National Holistic, a medical cannabis dispensary organization in Washington D.C.

Speaking of D.C., Dr. Macias also boasts a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Howard University, where she also served as Director of S.T.E.M. Education for 8 years. If you don’t know, Howard is arguably the #1 HBCU in the nation (very arguably if you ask Spelman, Morehouse, and FAMU alumni!). She also holds an MBA in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from Rutgers Business School. She has served as a Patent Examiner for the USPTO, and a Research Scientist for the Colgate Palmolive corporation.

In other words, she is a total badazz who’s default setting is BEASTMODE! Moreover, she was named Queen Zulu 2020 presiding over the Zulu Parade on Mardi Gras.
